Attractive little book (and yes, this is why I bought it), but the claims it makes seem to be based more in wishful thinking than in concrete fact. Did the Neolithic British really know about Egypt, the curvature of the earth, and ley-lines? Actually, I think that the concrete archaeological details are more exciting than even these fantastic claims.
New age mumbo-jumbo nonsense. In case you like new age stuff the book itself is badly written. It's a set of very short individual chapters that do not follow coherently on from each other. A number of the chapters are not clear. The pictures are quite nice from books from 1743-1872. However they are quite small and unlabelled so you don't know which source each book comes from.
Lovely little book of wonderful physical quality. The book contains mainly (with a few exceptions) historical illustrations. Each drawing is includes a brief lesson about some geologic or mystic aspect of the site.
Lovely little book which gives a flavour of the monument and its history together with some very nice reproductions of Stukeley's drawings.
