Ah yes. Allllll of this was exactly where Trent and Reed needed to be and it was perfect. I loved the family stuff and Reed finally getting comfortable in his skin as far as being with Trent and TRULY getting his love for Trent. That moment was beautiful. What a wonderful (and surprise to me til I saw it on the coming soon page) chapter of Trent & Reed's story. All the warm happies but it fit too, and wasn't super easy. Def recommend this series, so much.
3.75 StarsSo we jumped right back into the angst and insecurities of the last book but this time there was a complete disconnect. In the beginning, Trent acted weird. Isn't 3 years a long term relationship for anyone? Not a long one but it certainly counts doesn't it? Regardless, I didn't think it made sense after all that had happened to them that one of them could possibly wonder if he wanted a long term relationship with the other. When asked, Trent said, "Yes, I think so." Which is ridiculou [...]
Copy graciously provided by the author, EM Lynley, through InkedRainbowReads.5 Melt-My-Heart, LOVED the Suspense STARS!! DEVOURED more like.Reading Order:Rarer than Rubies, Precious Gems #1, 4 Stars! This was my first time reading EM Lynley. I LOVED.loved loved the details the author provided about this whole journey. Remarkable, satisying fourth book in The Precious Gems series, a favorite of mine :-) Review is up at Its About The Book
Review can be read at It's About The BookThis is the fourth book in a series that must be read in order to appreciate the growing relationship between Reed and Trent, and, well, because these men and their adventures are quite simply awesome!I’ve been hooked on this series ever since picking up the first book, Rarer Than Rubies, several years ago. It was easy to be drawn in thanks to the unique circumstances in which FBI agent Reed Acton, and romance author Trent Copeland originally met. The h [...]
FiveStarsOur two favourite international super-sleuths get uncomfortably domestic in the fourth book in the Precious Gems series. Trent’s parents bring Oklahoma’s college football, Christmas sweaters and exuberant affection into Trent and Reed’s stylish LA lives. Later in the book, Reed is forced to confront his own parents for the first time in many years when the couple has to work closely with Reed’s buttoned-up homophobic father while undercover.Lynley still gives readers an exotic d [...]
Trent and Reed are back in the fourth episode of the Precious Gems series and now they are much more domestic, or are trying to be. Reed is a former Special Forces man who now works for the FBI recovering stolen items. His work often takes him out of country where his knowledge of art history and international culture are invaluable. Trent tries to make a home for Reed and himself but finds that he usually takes second seat to Reed’s job.Trent is very close to his parents while Reed won’t ev [...]

This is my favorite book in the series. I love reading about established couples and Trent and Reed are one of my favs. Their chemistry was great from book one but Reed seemed to always hold a bit of himself back. This book changed all of that. Reed accepted Trent into the investigation from the beginning and really began to have faith that Trent was a viable work partner as well as life partner. It was amazing to watch Reed come to realize the depth of his love for Trent. I have always loved re [...]
Enjoyed this story, and couldn't put it down. I'd read book 1 a couple of years ago for Rainbow Awards so was great to catch up with Reed and Trent again, and see how far they'd come both in their relationship and as individuals. Easy writing style that sucked me into the storyline very quickly. Loved the descriptions of the settings - made it seem very real, and easy to imagine.
I love this story, this series and especially Trent and Reed . 24 karat is what makes all perfect because now , we know more on Reed and his past and all has a sense.Perfect is also the writing of author, original and exciting, read her books is as start a journey around world.Awesome, amazing, beautiful, I have had so much fun reading these stories.
Book 4 in the Precious Gems series. Not to be read as a stand alone.Of the four books, I enjoyed this one the most. That being said, there were a few quirks that kept this from a higher ranking. Three years is a long time to be in a relationship and still questioning if he loves me/he loves me not. The angst and self-doubt has become tiresome. I did not find Trent’s emotional see-saw endearing in anyway: the sudden mood changes when Reed’s boss would call, the quick anger at Reed being calle [...]
This was a really good continuation of the Precious Gems series, really giving a complete look at Reed and Trent as we get to see them and their families. For the first time Trent is intentionally brought along to work with Reed, both for cover and to get to places that Reed cannot. It lets Reed see how much Trent has learned and changed over the time they have been together, becoming quite competent at the basics of what Reed does. Trent also got to see how Reed has changed, opening up more to T [...]
This is book four of the precious Gems series. I have not read the first three and think this one stood alone just fine. Though it did make me want to go back and read how these two guys met!Reed works for the FBI recovering stolen international items. He is often away on work and he often uses work not to have to deal with family situations. He and Trent have been together three years and Trent is tiring of being pushed away or avoided when it comes to discussing family. With Trent’s family v [...]
If you’ve been following the Precious Gems series, this story will mean more than if you read it as a standalone, however, it can be read as one. In this book, FBI Agent Reed Acton, goes undercover on an Army base in Texas— the same Army base where his father is a Colonel. Reed is selected because he’s a former Ranger and knows the military lifestyle, but this time, Reed’s boss asks that he take his live-in lover, Trent Copeland, with him. Trent will infiltrate the military spouses as th [...]
I am extremely excited to talk about this book. This being one of my favorite series by author EM Lynley. Trent and Reed have been together for three years and they throughly love each other but sometimes is difficult to balance the relationship. I'm so glad we go into Reed's history in this one, that way we could understand more about the family he never talks about. The case goes into the missing artifacts from the time of the Iraqi war and puts Trent and Reed in front of that past, lite [...]
This was a great book to me. I did not read the other three books in the series which is so out of the normal for me (and I think I must be having a moment cause I have no idea how this one was on my TBR and the first ones were not). Anywho. I loved Trent and Reed. I do want to know more about them so I will go back and read the first three books (especially now I know it end all right). I liked the investigation parts and how the families interacted and how the truth came out for Reed with his [...]
Reed suddenly becomes the "girl" in this relationship? Well, maybe not quite that bad but, seriously? Where is my man of "steele emotions"? The trip to Istanbul was exciting and very detailed I felt like I was walking down the streets! And, the "life on base" was pretty much spot on! I think Reed's dad was caught between a rock and a hard place but, WOW did he make bad choices! Communication would have been the key here I know men aren't overly fond of "talking" but it sure would have helped wit [...]
It is a while since I read the previous three books and this was like putting on a nice comfy jumper, everything fit just right!Trent and Reed are still the same - Trent a bit flightly but solid, dependable, able to see to the heart of people; Reed focussed on the job, reserved in his feelings. But in this story we see a great change, for the better, in Reed and some progress in his family relationships. Not so much of the fast and furious action chases from the earlier books but some great insig [...]
I hadn't heard about this series before and thus haven't read any of the preceding parts. However, I found the blurb very interessting and after having seen a review confirming that reading this book first works perfectly fine I just gave it a try. I have to say that it was a great decision, I totally want to go back and read how these two got together! The writing style was great, I loved the interaction between all the characters and the gripping dialogues! Wonderful mystery! 4 stars for this [...]
Reed is on the trail of stolen Iraqi treasures and Trent helps by accompanying him to Turkey and then going undercover as a married couple on a military base. This my favourite of the series so far. It was nice to get some of Reed's history to see the relationship between Reed and Trent getting stronger. They didn't manage to get into as much trouble as they usually do and there was a bit more on their relationship. I like these two together and although this felt like an end to the series it wo [...]
Hopefully this is not the end - I'm looking forward to seeing these two officially married. I am also interested to see if Reed gives up his FBI job. He seems to be having doubts now and realises how his job affects Trent. I have enjoyed watching the relationship between Reed and Trent deepen and have loved the descriptions of all the countries visited. It is good to finally get the background of Reed and meet both families. A solid 4 star read
3.5 stars. I did enjoy this story. FBI agent Reed, takes his lover, Trent, on an undercover mission to find a smuggling ring of Iraqi artifacts. The opening chapters writing/storyline seemed a bit awkward and stilted, but once Reed and Trent set off to Turkey, I got right into it. Would have loved more detail descriptions of the sites they experienced. Istanbul has always fascinated me. I was sorry when the trail took them back to the states. Overall it was an entertaining read.
Awesome bookI hope we see more of Reed and Trent. Well researched book. I appreciate the effort that went into writing this book. Make sure to start start reading from book one on order to understand the full impact of this well written book.
A very enjoyable series full of action, intrigue and mystery. Reed and Trent are great together, and I loved the end of this book.
I like the ending and the progress of Trent and Reed's relationship. I want more action though.
