Burdin’s End, like Beasts of Burdin and Burdin of Choice, takes off from the first sentence and races at high speed until the end. Ty Burdin is a character I simply love. From the very first book, this series has only gotten better. Per his unwavering literary style, Alex Nader keeps the hits coming and steers the final book in the Beasts of Burdin trilogy in a funny, thrilling, heart wrenching, and unexpected direction. This is one of those series’ that stays with you. You’ll want to rerea [...]
As part of Burdin’s End’s Virtual Book Tour, I was offered a free copy of this book by Sage at Sage Blog Tours in exchange for an honest review. This is the third installment of the Beasts of Burdin trilogy; however it can be read as a standalone novel. With a first-person narrative that is both bold, hilarious and straight to the point, I have to admit that this book was very entertaining and engaging. I feel it deserves a little bit more than 3 stars from me, but a few minor details prevent [...]
original review @ JC's Book Haven. On one side of the kid are two Tengus. They are kind of like the lizard-man, but dogs instead of reptiles. They are mean and protective as a mother lion surrounded by flaming hyenas. On his other side is an imp— the demon equivalent of a sea monkey— and an ultra-rare Karasu-Tengu, also known as a crow-tengu. Also known as damn I wish I had some backup. The GoodThis is 3rd book in the Beasts of Burdin series. Even though this is the 3rd story, I was able to fo [...]
Gosh, some people’s attitudes are miserable. And not one healthful coping mechanism to be seen. Of course, narrators are rarely known for spreading sunshine and dishing up entertaining sass both at once. And if I can only have one or the other, odds are I’ll go with the sass.Despite his efforts to remain retired, Ty Burdin can’t seem to go more than twenty-four hours or so without hunting and/or being hunted by an unpredictable variety pack of demons. His small circle of loved ones (so… [...]
Spoiler FreeWhen Alex was tossing around review copies, I volunteered beforerealizing this was book three of a series. I was worried this would bea problem, but it didn't take long to figure out it would be fine onits own. I'll likely go back and read the previous ones now.The book starts out giving you a very good impression of Ty Burdin'scharacter. Which is good, because this is a first person point ofview, and you immediately know what kind of narrator you're dealingwith. (Since I hadn't read [...]
I loved this thrilling conclusion to the Beasts of Burdin trilogy! It definitely surprised me, kept me constantly entertained; at one point I was practically in tears. In this final installment many questions are answered as to the origin of the horrific monsters Ty has encountered and fought during his life. I thought the reason for the current monster infestation was both original and (sort of) believable in a quirky way. I really wanted TY to get a better handle on his alcoholism, and I worrie [...]
