Just One Kiss by Wendy Davy is a wholesome small town romance that reads more like women’s fiction than a romance, although the heroine and heroine spend a lot of page time together. There is an attraction for both, which has carried on since they were in high school. Just One Kiss is very PG (perhaps even G-rated), complete with a lovable dog that almost takes over the story.Molly is a gardener/florist of sorts. She has spent most of her life in her small hometown, with the exception of colle [...]
Molly took a dare in high school to kiss the most popular football player in the school—Dustin McKinley. She’d loved him forever, so risked her heart on the dare. When he picked up and left town after graduation (the day after her kiss), her heart never recovered. Years later, when she receives an eviction notice from Dustin to vacate her apartment on his grandmother’s property after he inherits her property, she knows her heart will break all over again. I loved this story. It’s written [...]
Just One Kiss is a sweet story about young love that didn’t really have a chance to blossom getting a second chance. I’m sure when we all think back on a high school crush or even ex, we have fond memories. Sometimes we have regrets on not acting on those feelings with that person, but how often do you get a second chance to fall in love?Molly Parker is known around Grandbury for kissing Dustin McKinley after graduation. It didn’t help that he left town the very next day with only a note t [...]
This is a gentle story about second chances, miscommunications, and hearts afraid to love. Elements of faith and divine direction keep the characters grounded and guide their paths. Brought together by his Aunt Dorothy, long forgotten chemistry flares to life when Dustin McKinley and Molly Parker are reunited. Pasts hurts have caused them to build walls to protect their hearts from pain. “He never allowed personal matters to interfere with business.” He’s a risk assessor while she is a ris [...]
Kissing him at graduation was not enough for Molly. Nor was it enough for Dustin. Though it took losing his Grandmother to bring him back home, it was Molly who would determine if he stayed or not. He's had a successful career in New York and sees no reason to return to South Carolina. But once he sees Molly again, he can't help but wonder.Love Wendy Davy's books. Good clean fun and romantic to boot.
While I didn't mind the long ago kiss idea--well, as a device--ten years seemed too long ago and their old "relationship" too tenuous to spark the rest of the story. I did not like the other elements of the book--house, rental, Carter, Lakota, eviction, flower business, etc. I did finish reading the book, so that is an automatic 2 stars.
This is my first book by Wendy Davy, and it will not be my last. It was a great romance and I loved that the "Christian" part of the book was such a natural extension of the story and was not forced or unnatural at all.
Good, pure hearted, romanceThis was a good, pure hearted, romance. It made me want Molly and Dustin to have the happy ever after. I also liked the fact that they both relied on prayer to lead them.
SweetThis was a good story. The love of good strong Christian woman waiting until the one she loved came back and worked through things. Good book I recommend it to anyone who loves a good Christian romance.
An inspiring and sweet storyI really enjoyed this book. A story showing just how amazing life can become when you lean not on your own understanding but instead listen to God.
Cheesy, but I liked that it was mysterious d Christian.
