This book is similar to Gage & Alberti's previous X-Men/Spider-Man book. The story takes place over four issues, each set in a different time period in "Marvel Universe" history. It's a fun way to structure the story, and it makes it into a bit of meta-fiction, almost. (The story is, in some ways, more about the comics than the characters.) The "theme" of the book gets a little heavy-handed near the end, but it's all good. And it's all in fun, with great action set-pieces involving Namor, Sk [...]

Well, what I thought was going to be a throwaway team-up turned out to be pretty enjoyable for a couple of reasons: 1) each story takes place around previous events in FF history, sort of a "between this issues". 2) there's a background mystery running through each one which culminates in the final issue. and 3) there are some nice characterization bits thrown in.The first issue takes place early on in the FF's career and there are enough hints to help you figure it out, I just didn't have time [...]

The stories themselves were enjoyable when they were covering the actual story. It is irksome to have politics thrown into the mix, just so the writer can slam those he disagrees with, through the mouths of the heroes. This is one of the reasons I basically quit buying comics - tired of paying money to be insulted by people who only have part of the picture and think they are the "end all" of knowledge.

A little mushy for my tastes, but not a bad read. Did enjoy Spider-Man kissing the She-Thing.

A fun read. I've always enjoyed Spider-Man when he's with the Fantastic Four.I am not familiar with some of the story points here, but that didn't take away form the enjoyment.
